Helen E. Muro, 95, Garvey Manor, passed away Saturday at the home.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of Nicholas and Carmella (Calucci) DeStadio. She married Frank L. Muro on June 24, 1944, in Altoona. He passed away on Dec. 19, 1998.
She is survived by a son, Anthony L. Muro, of Hollidaysburg; two grandsons: Troy A. (Tracie) Evans in Georgia and Jason B. (Amy) of Altoona; three great-grandchildren: Andrew, Gabby and Cecelia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Janet, who passed away in 2005; three brothers: Daniel, Joseph and Anthony DeStadio; and four sisters: Margaret Salimbene, Mary Faretti, Edith Fatigante and Lucy Conrad.
Helen was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.
She worked at Bon-Ton and retired from Riverside Bakery as a clerk.
She was a graduate of Altoona High School.
Helen enjoyed playing Bocci and bingo.
She was one of the original members of the Buccinese Ladies Auxiliary.
Helen enjoyed spending time with her family.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Nov. 26, 2013, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
