Phillip A. Jannetta, 84, Altoona, passed away Saturday at home.
He was born in Altoona, son of Emilio and Mary (Laraia) Jannetta. He was twice married; first to Betty L. Sellers, who passed away on Nov. 6, 1986; and second to Betty R. Gardner, who passed away on Oct. 16, 2002.
He is survived by a daughter, Deborah Barr of Pittsburgh; three sons: Phillip A. Jannetta Jr. of Pittsburgh, David L. Jannetta of Malvern, Pa., and Stephen W. Jannetta of Lancaster; two step-daughters: Kerista J. Hippo of Altoona and Karen Charney in Florida; a step-son, Keith Gardner of Johnstown; a sister, Angelina Wood of Hollidaysburg; and two brothers, Richard Jannetta of Hollidaysburg, and Thomas of Philadelphia; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Kimberly Hileman; two brothers: Edward and Dennis Jannetta; and a sister, Jane Lepore.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.
Phil was a well-known owner of Olivo's Restaurant for many decades. After retiring from the restaurant business, he worked for an insurance company.
He attended the Altoona school district.
Phillip loved his dogs and playing cards. He was a member of the United Veterans Association and Cesare Battisti Club.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, in Santella Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Committal will be at Calvary Mausoleum.
