Tom Worthington II has been promoted to the newly created position of creative director for the Altoona Mirror, its affiliated websites and glossy magazines, as well as Headline Marketing & Communication, the Mirror's full-service creative agency.
In his new role, Worthington will supervise all Mirror graphic artists and will be responsible for the look of all Altoona Mirror products. Worthington previously was the Mirror's newsroom graphic artist and began his career at the media company in 1997 as a member of its ad services team.
"Tom has elevated the look and feel our of newspaper product for many years," said Ray Eckenrode, the Mirror's general manager for advertising. "As our business evolves into other media and marketing channels, we're confident Tom can build a team of artists who will bring the same creativity, consistency and can-do attitude to our growing portfolio of products and to our growing audience."
Worthington is a native of Johnstown and now resides in Blandburg with his wife, Gena, and son, Trip.
