Penn State wrestling fans celebrated when the nation's No. 1 recruit, Kennard-Dale's Chance Marsteller, verbally committed to the Nittany Lions in July.

There's no celebration today as Marsteller has decommitted to the Lions and committed to Oklahoma State.

"Just to clear up any confusion I will be wrestling for Oklahoma State," Marsteller said on his Facebook page on Wednesday afternoon.

There had been rumors and published reports as late as Wednesday morning that the three-time Class AAA state champion, who is 125-0 in his career, had been reconsidering his decision to wrestle for coach Cael Sanderson.

In fact, Marsteller, expected to wrestle at either 165 or 174 in college, recently visited Oklahoma State, coached by two-time Olympic gold medalist and two-time NWCA Coach of the Year John Smith.

There has been no comment from Sanderson through Penn State or on Twitter. Under NCAA rules, college coaches are prohibited from talking about recruits.

Where he was going to wrestle in college was much talked about by fans before he decided on Penn State. When he initially chose Penn State, Marsteller said Oklahoma State and Arizona State were on the short list.

The early letter of intent signing period for college wrestling is Nov. 13-20.
