Donald Michael Lawruk, 75, Lake Suzy, Fla., passed away Wednesday.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Antony and Magdaline (Gurna) Lawruk.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Barbara A. (DeSoto); four children: Rebecca A. Blackson of Cortland, Ohio, Michael A. of Las Vegas, Nev., Samantha L. Gullett of Jacksonville, Fla., and Christina R. Poschner of Austintown, Ohio; seven beloved grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and six siblings: Walter, Maurice, Adam, Olga Romerowicz, Jennie Cramer and Alice Hanna.
Don was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Moore; and two brothers: Joseph and Raymond.
Don spent most of his career as an automotive tool and die maker. In 1997, he retired from General Motors, Lordstown, Ohio. Don was a member of St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in North Port, Fla. He loved living in Florida, playing golf, woodworking, and helping his church and friends. Mostly, though, he loved his family.
He will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. today, Nov. 3, 2013, at Farley Funeral Home, North Port, Fla., with a Panachyda service to follow. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, followed by interment at Venice Memorial Gardens.
