Guy E. Woomer, 70, McKee, died peacefully and went home to be with his beloved Savior Friday morning at his residence.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Chester and Verna (Clapper) Woomer. He married Judy L. Yingling on April 8, 1960, in Winchester, Va.
Surviving are his wife; three daughters: Tammy Croft and fiance, Craig Hoover, of McKee, Mandy Drysdale of McKee and Karen Smith and husband, Dane, of Roaring Spring; five grandchildren: Corey Croft and wife, Kristin, Jamie Mountain and husband, Dwayne, Cale Croft, Jenna Drysdale and Darby Smith; and three great-grandchildren: Devon, Emily and Laney Mountain.
He is also survived by a sister, Marion Edwards of Altoona; and a brother, Donald and wife, Lisa, of Hollidaysburg.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Chester and Lester; and a sister, Ethel Wyland.
Guy owned and operated McKee Electric for more than 35 years and also retired from Appleton Papers Inc. in 1989 after 37 years of service. He was an active member of Grace Fellowship Church, Leamersville Campus, and had served on the board of directors for the Altoona Rescue Mission for many years.
Guy loved his family, collecting model trains, watching trains, playing the guitar, listening to country music and reading his Bible.
Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, at Grace Fellowship Church, Leamersville Campus, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, by Pastor Mark Lingenfelter. Interment will be made in Greenlawn Cemetery, Roaring Spring.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Guy's memory may be given to the church.
