Michael A. Ansman, 55, Altoona, formerly of Titusville, Fla., died Friday after a brief illness of cancer.
He was born in Altoona, son of Elizabeth (McNulty) Ansman and the late Cletus Ansman. He married Patricia Hemingway, who preceded him in death July 13, 2007.
Surviving are his mother of Altoona; nine siblings: Jerry, Joe, Robin Dunklebarger, Becky Weyant and Bonnie Merilli, all of Altoona, Mary Brodka of Tarentum, Sharon Caber of State College, Barbara Diehl of Tyrone and John of Somerset; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James "Slim."
Michael was a graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High School and medically retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service. He was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church and Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed working on and repairing electronics and also enjoyed bingo.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held at 7:45 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, at St. Mark's Catholic Church by Father Ronald Osinski. Committal will be held at Calvary Cemetery with military honors.
