Ronald D. Weitzel, 62, of Roaring Spring died Saturday morning at UPMC Altoona due to complications following surgery.
He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late Russell and Nellie (Walters) Weitzel.
He is survived by his fiancee, Vickey Musselman of Roaring Spring; four children: Ginger Strayer and husband, Ron, of Claysburg, Ronald L. "Butch" Weitzel and wife, June, of Martinsburg, Gerry Weitzel and fiancee, Tamra Thomas, of Martinsburg and Anita Weitzel and husband, Mark Fessler, of Martinsburg; 16 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter; four sisters: Connie, Linda, Margie and Jeanie; and two brothers: Dale and Gary and wife, Christine.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert D. Weitzel; and a brother, Sonny Weitzel.
He enjoyed fishing, hauling junk, yard saling and spending time with his family.
Ronald wanted no grief or sadness in the hearts of his friends and those he loved.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday by Pastor Charles Brewbaker. Interment will be made in East Sharpsburg Cemetery.
