Kevin James Hanlin, 54, of Altoona died Thursday at his residence.
Mr. Hanlin was born in Altoona, son of Anastasia A. "Ann" (Arseniu) and the late James Joseph Hanlin. He married R. Lynn Slaney.
He is survived by his wife; two sons: Alexander J. Hanlin of Pittsburgh and Shawn A. Hanlin at home; his mother, with whom he resided; and two brothers: John J. Hanlin of Hermitage and Terry R. Hanlin of Braselton, Ga.
He was employed as an electrician at Norfolk Southern Railroad, Altoona, with 29 years of service.
He was a member of Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona.
Kevin was a 1976 graduate of Altoona Area High School, and he received an associate degree in electrical engineering from Penn State Altoona.
He was a member of the Bavarian Aid Society.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman, skier, bowler and tennis player.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at Jones Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held during visitation. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona. Committal rites will be at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
