R. Linda Zimmerman, 94, formerly of Altoona, passed away Friday evening at Homewood at Martinsburg.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Robert and Mary Love. She married Harry R. Zimmerman on March 16, 1941, in Altoona. He passed away on Oct. 4, 2009, after 68 years of marriage.
She is survived by a daughter, Marianna Z. Keagle and husband, Bill, of Martinsburg.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Anna, and a brother, Paul.
Linda was a graduate of Reade Township High School.
She received her operator's license from Hammond Beauty School, Altoona.
Linda had been employed as the first driver's license photographer at the Pennsylvania State Police barracks in Hollidaysburg and was formerly employed in the credit department at Gable's Department Store, Altoona.
She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Martinsburg.
Linda was a member of Order of the Easter Star, Jobel Court, Daughters of the Nile and the national organization of The Daughters of the American Revolution, Washington, D.C.
She and her husband enjoyed traveling the United States and sailing the Holland Dutch Lines to ports of the Caribbean and other notable islands. They vacationed at Myrtle Beach, S.C., during the winter months and at Rehoboth Beach, Del., in the summer.
There will be no visitation or funeral service. Private inurnment will be held at Grandview Cemetery, Antis Township.
