LOYSBURG - Northern Bedford's Blake Over and Williamsburg's Austin McMonagle entered Week 9 of the high school football season as the top two passers in the area, respectively.
Friday's game did nothing to change that. Over completed 19-of-27 passes for 313 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Black Panthers past Williamsburg 49-36 Friday at Panther Community Stadium. The 6-foot-5 senior ran for another three scores.
"It was a very offensive-minded game. We got big plays when we needed them," Northern coach Jeff Batzel said. "We did what we needed to keep a two-score cushion throughout most of the game."

McMonagle nearly matched his counterpart, connecting on 13-of-26 passes for 291 yards and three touchdowns.
Northern Bedford (7-2) took an early 14-0 lead with a pair of first quarter touchdowns and held the lead throughout.
Austin Heck scored on a 10-yard run on the game's opening possession, and Zane Snyder hauled in a long pass from Over for a 73-yard score on Northern's next possession.
Williamsburg (5-4) got on the board late in the quarter when McMonagle threw a 21-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Shaw on a 4th-and-8 play.
Northern's next two possessions ended with Over touchdown runs that put the Black Panthers ahead 28-7.
Willliamsburg cut the lead to 14 with a touchdown late in the half following a Bryce Young interception at the Northern 40.
A screen pass to Caleb Morrissey went for 34 yards, and Mike Biddle ran around right end for a 6-yard touchdown.
"You have to be able to drive the ball and keep it away from their offense. We weren't able to do that in the first half," Williamsburg coach Bob Hearn said. "They have a really, really excellent offense. Our kids played pretty well in the second half, but you've got to be able to stop them once in a while."
The Blue Pirates took the second-half kickoff and marched 65 yards in eight plays to pull within 28-20. Morrissey took another screen pass 23 yards for the score.
Northern answered with a long, 10-play, 63-yard scoring drive of its own. Following the ensuing kickoff, Diehl intercepted a McMonagle pass on Williamsburg's first play at the Blue Pirates 32.
Five plays later, Over and Diehl connected on a 32-yard touchdown pass that put the Black Panthers up three scores once again.
"Black made a great fake on that play. He tucked the ball and made it look like he was going run, and Kyle was able to get behind the defense," Batzel said.
Overall, Diehl caught six passes for 128 yards and the one touchdown. Biddle was Williamsburg's leading receiver with five receptions for 138 yards and a touchdown. The junior back also had a 6-yard touchdown run.
