Helen B. Carnahan, 98, Homewood at Martinsburg, died Saturday. She was born in Hollidaysburg, daughter of the late George G. and Martha (Stoke) Baker. She was married for 51 years to the late Joseph K. Carnahan, who died in 1991.
Surviving are a daughter, N. Diane Scheuer and husband, Jack; four grandchildren: Carie Lyn and Adam Carnahan and Kristian and Bradley Scheuer; and several nieces and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by a son, Barry J. Carnahan; three sisters, Lois M. Smith, Emma L. Simpson and Nancy J. DeLeo; a brother, Floyd W. Baker; and a granddaughter, Ella E. Scheuer.
Helen was a member of St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, Martinsburg.
Helen was a happy and loving friend, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting, swimming, bowling, playing bridge and traveling.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, in the Homewood Chapel by Pastor Jerry McCuller. Interment at Carson Valley Cemetery will be private.
