James R. Farabaugh, 78, Hollidaysburg, went home to be with the Lord Friday evening.
He was born in Altoona, son of Ferdinand and Bertha (Edmundson) Farabaugh. He married Jean M. Howard, who preceded him in death on Feb. 9, 2005.
Surviving are three daughters: Mary L. Henry and husband, Jason Sr., and Belinda A. Metz and companion, Wayne Maus, all of Hollidaysburg and Jean Shaffer of Altoona; a son, Edward Shaffer Jr. of Hollidaysburg; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Rouzer of Hollidaysburg; and a special caregiver, Melissa Farber.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason M. Henry Jr., on Aug. 22, 2013.
James retired from Berwind Railway of Hollidaysburg with more than 30 years of service. He was an avid Steelers fan and enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, where an 8 p.m. funeral service will be held by Pastor David L. Foor. Interment will be at New Canoe Creek Cemetery.
