Norma K. Over, 89, Altoona, died suddenly Thursday at UPMC Altoona.
She was born in Penistone, South Yorkshire, England, daughter of Norman and Beatrice (Hatfield) Penney. She married Warren E. Over, and he died Nov. 6, 1997.
Surviving are two daughters: Elaine Clapper of Altoona and Verna Harper and husband, Jay, of Duncansville; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Margaret Penney in England.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Tipton; and a great-grandson, Zachary Klein.
Norma was schooled in Yorkshire, England, and worked in a munitions factory in England during WWII. She was one of the 10,000 war brides to arrive in the United States aboard the liner Queen Mary. She retired after working at numerous shoe factories in the Altoona area. She enjoyed traveling to beaches and seeing the ocean.
Friends will be received from 2 until the 4 p.m. funeral service Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, Pastor Wayne Ayer officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
