Dolores S. Prugar, 77, Grandview, joined her beloved husband in paradise Wednesday afternoon at her residence.
She was born in McKeesport, daughter of the late Michael F. and Rose (Ivkovich) Ziobro. She married Vincent E. Prugar on Sept. 10, 1955, at St. Cyprian's Catholic Church in Pittsburgh, and he preceded her in death on June 1, 2013.
Surviving are six children: Valerie A. Keller and husband, Barry, of Blue Ridge Summit, Vincent M. and wife, Marianna (Nikulcza), of York, Vanessa M. and Victor P., both of Altoona, Vivian R. Fry and husband, Edward L., of Martinsburg and Vance C. and wife, Vanessa (Guillard), of Old Hickory, Tenn.; six grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and a sister, Martha Jane Ziobro of Hermitage, Tenn.
Dolores was a 1953 graduate of Our Lady of Sacred Heart Academy in Coraopolis. She was employed at Dun & Bradstreet as a recorder of accumulated business data and worked at Pittsburgh Screw and Bolt Co. in the mailroom until the birth of her first child. In later years, she worked at the Wehnwood Diner as a cook/waitress.
Dolores was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Her husband, children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter were her passion in life. She also loved cooking, baking, gardening, canning, reading and playing the piano.
Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today, Oct. 18, 2013, at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 900 N. Fourth St., Altoona, by Monsignor Michael Servinsky. Interment will be held at SS. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Cemetery, Altoona.
