John H. "Johnny" Norris, 66, Tyrone, died Monday afternoon at Valley View Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born in Lewistown, son of the late Mary Norris.
Surviving are three siblings: Buddy Norris, Sonja Anderson and Judy Marker. He was also loved and survived by the staff and his friends at Skills of Central Pennsylvania Inc. and his life-sharing family, Charles and Joy Wolford and their children, Kristin and husband, Dominic, Aaron and Dana.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Norris.
Johnny was a happy, funny and loving man. He loved coffee, Little Debbie snack cakes, his little treasures such as cars, Snoopy and especially his crosses, hugs, watching Animal Planet, and his favorite pets, Paco and Sparky. His sweet, gentle and special spirit will be missed.
People would describe John as an affectionate man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He always greeted people with a hug and really cared about the people in his life.
Friends will be received from 1 until the 3 p.m. funeral service today, Oct. 17, 2013, at Gilden Barton Funeral Home, 1401 Ninth Ave., Altoona, by Father Terrance T. Smith, T.O.R. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery, Altoona.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Skills Foundation.
