Alyssa McGhee picked up a hat trick Saturday afternoon to lead the Bishop Guilfoyle girls soccer team to a 5-2 win over rival Altoona at Mansion Park in high school action.
Delaney Myrick added two goals for the Lady Marauders (15-1), who led, 2-0, at halftime.
Altoona (7-9-1) got goals from Julie Reighard and Michaela Bryan early in the second half to tie the game up at 2-2 before Guilfoyle ran off three straight goals for the win.
"Altoona played a direct style of game, placing balls over the top, which worked in the first few minutes of the second half, but we adjusted the defense and tightened down in the midfield," Guilfoyle coach Harry McGhee said. "That was our first match of the year on turf and the girls adjusted well."
