Ruth Evelyn Beach, 86, The Village at Morrisons Cove, Martinsburg, passed away Friday evening at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring, after a brief illness.
She was born in rural Martinsburg, daughter of the late Howard J. and Edna G. (Horton) Beach.
Surviving are three sisters: Audrey Beach and Ethel Martin, both of Roaring Spring, and Bonnie Flaugh of East Freedom; a brother, Ray Beach of rural Roaring Spring; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia; and three brothers: Earl G., H. Eugene and infant Jackie Leroy.
Ruthie retired as an assembler from Sylvania, Altoona, in 1988, after more than 40 years of service.
She was a member of Memorial Church of the Brethren, Martinsburg.
Ruthie was a longtime member of the Thursday Night Ladies Bowling League at Morrisons Cove Memorial Park, Martinsburg.
She enjoyed bowling, cooking, especially fudge, spaghetti sauce and macaroni and cheese, and spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 10:30 a.m. until the 12 noon funeral service Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, at Memorial Church of the Brethren, with Pastor Joel F. Nogle and Chaplain Linda S. Banaszak officiating. Private interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
