Catherine Louise Kouchis, 75, Sun Lakes, Ariz., passed on into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Saturday at her home after a courageous battle with multiple myeloma.
She was born in Hollidaysburg, the eldest of eight children of the late Richard and Lillian Dively. She was twice married, first to Donald Baumeister of Chicago, Ill., who died in September 1977. She then married Steve Kouchis of Chicago, who died in September 2007.
Surviving are two stepsons: Peter (Susan) Kouchis of Chicago, and William Kouchis of Scottsdale, Ariz.; four sisters: Dixie (Larry) Scott of Tipton, Diana (Earl) Ayle of Chandler, Ariz., Judith (Steven) Burns of Tyrone and Lillian (Arnold) Weaver of Hollidaysburg; three brothers: Richard (Jacqueline) Dively of Duncansville, Timothy Dively of Hollidaysburg and Michael (Lisa) Dively of Duncansville; 16 nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
After 41 years of service with United Airlines of Chicago, Catherine relocated to Sun Lakes, Ariz. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Sun Lakes, Ariz. Most precious to her were her family, friends and church family, her feline companions, Rosie, Josie, Cindy and Mindy, and her many opportunities and places of travel.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, and 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
