Cavalier keeps her game sharp

Athlete of the week achievement: She won the District 6 Class AA singles championship this past weekend with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Tyrone's Ema Juleynova.

Season update: Central Cambria does not have a tennis team so Cavalier competes in matches as part of a United States Tennis Association travel team that plays in the Pittsburgh area.

Coach Jamie Taylor's quote: "I think a lot of it has to do with her overall commitment to improve her game and play at such a high level. She tries to maintain that high level. Playing in the [district] tournament is one way she does that, and she tries to make sure she is in position to win matches. She has played competitively at the USTA level, which keeps her sharp."
