Huntingdon rides big 2nd half

THREE SPRINGS - Torrie Lauer and Olivia Marker each recorded two goals and an assist to lead the Huntingdon Area High School field hockey team past Southern Huntingdon 4-0 on Thursday.

The Lady Bearcats broke open a 1-0 game with three goals in the second half in improving to 4-5, while Southern Huntingdon dropped to 0-8.

ALEXANDRIA - Cierra O'Shell led all scorers with 13 points as Glendale defeated Juniata Valley 29-9 in junior high girls basketball.

Kelsey Ness and Mackenzie Lukehart each added five points for Glendale, which improved to 11-1.

GLENDALE (29): Jasper 2, Lukehart 5, Ness 5, Clarkson 4, O'Shell 13.

JUNIATA VALLEY (9): Belinda, Leidy 4, Wilson 4.

Records: Glendale (11-1).

B-A goes to 10-0

MOUNT UNION - Riley D'Angelo scored 15 points, and Brynne Swogger added 12 points as the Bellwood-Antis junior high girls basketball team remained unbeaten at 10-0 with a 36-15 victory at Mount Union.

Shayla Branstetter added nine steals for the Lady Devils.

BELLWOOD-ANTIS (36): D'Angelo 15, Branstetter 7, Engle 2, Swogger 12.

MOUNT UNION (15): Fortney 5, Hand 2, Hartley 2, Worthy 6.

MORRISDALE - Julia Herring scored 15 points to lead West Branch past Claysburg Kimmel 22-21 in junior high girls basketball.

Emily Claar led Claysburg-Kimmel with eight points. West Branch improved to 6-5.

CLAYSBURG-KIMMEL (21): Kennedy 2, Musselman 3, Fickes 2, Claar 8, Locke 6.

WEST BRANCH (22): Ceprish 3, McTavish 4, Herring 15.
