ORE HILL - The Central High School golf team took second on Wednesday at the Mountain League Championships, which were held at Iron Masters.
The Scarlet Dragons shot a 259, just three strokes behind winner Clearfield.
Central was led by Preston Gregg's 84, followed by Ryan Mills (85), Cordell Bowser (90) and Ben Brumbaugh (98).
Philipsburg-Osceola finished third with a 285, led by Carter Fischer (92), Patyon Guelich (93) and Kyle Witmer (100). Huntingdon was fourth at 291, led by Matt Krupa's 85. Rounding out the Bearcats' scores were J.B. Yetter (103), Lane Wilson (103) and Cole Bishop (104).
Tyrone finished seventh at 323. Their top golfers were Zach Kensinger (100), Nate Soellner (109), Blake Brooks (114) and Jack Murtagh (123).
Altoona's Martin cards 77
STATE COLLEGE - Despite Altoona and Hollidaysburg having the top two golfers on the day, State College won over the Mountain Lions and the Tigers, finishing 18 holes with a 326 at the Centre Hills Golf Course.
Trentin Martin, the medalist, shot a 77 for Altoona, which finished with a 356. Hunter Shields led the Tigers with a 78 as they finished with a 337.
