Louise H. (Furgione) Cook, 85, Hollidaysburg, passed away Friday at the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of Domenico and Domenica (Suriano) Furgione. She was twice married, first to the late William Osborne and then to the late James R. Cook.
Surviving are two sisters: Yolanda (Vince) Bumann and Theresa Verbonitz, both of Altoona; two brothers: Victor (Dorothy) Furgione of Hollidaysburg and Eugene Furgione of Altoona; a brother-in-law, Pete Smith of Orlando, Fla.; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sons: Steven Osborne in 1954 and Michael Osborne in 1957; two sisters: Anne Smith and Amelia Sinisi; and a brother, Torino Furgione.
Louise was a 1945 graduate of Altoona High School. She retired as a secretary from the Defense Department of the Pentagon with 24 years of service. Louise was a member of Sylvan Hills Golf Association, and she was an avid golfer who also enjoyed world traveling.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. today, Oct. 1, 2013, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
