Michael Robert McGough, 63, Altoona, left his family and friends on Sept. 6, 2013.
He was born in Altoona, dear son of the late Robert Leo and Mary Jane (Yorgy) McGough.
Surviving are three sisters: Janet McGough-Csarny of Durham, N.C., Marianne McGough King (Gordon) of Hamilton, Ohio, and Maureen Cecelia McGough of Altoona; a brother, Lawrence Anthony (Maureen) of Maple Grove, Minn.; and nieces and nephews: Nichole Vipond Charette in Massachusetts, Scott Vipond in Nevada, Michael Becker of Altoona, Matthew and Megan McGough of Maple Grove, Minn., Jennifer Lynn Marasco of Pittsburgh and Brandon Michael Marasco of Altoona.
He will be dearly missed by a good friend, Deb Drexler; and by his stepson, Andrew Hite and wife, Stephanie, and their children, Makayla, Makale, Alissa and Adam, who will miss their "Pappy Mike."
Mike worked at Mattress Emporium for 10 years and The Appliance Store for 10 years, but his main passion was music throughout his life, and he played in many local bands.
A celebration of Mike's life will take place from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, at the St. Stanislaus Kostka Brotherhood Hall, 1901 16th Ave., Altoona. Friends are invited to come and share their memories of Mike, his wonderful sense of humor and how he lived his life "His Way."
