Louise H. Cook, 85, Hollidaysburg, passed away Friday at Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of Domenico and Domenica (Suriano) Furgione. She was twice married; first to the late William Osborne, and then to the late James R. Cook.
She is survived by two sisters: Yolanda (Vince) Bumann and Theresa Verbonitz, all of Altoona; two brothers: Victor (Dorothy) Furgione of Hollidaysburg and Eugene Furgione of Altoona; and a brother-in-law, Pete Smith of Orlando, Fla.; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Louise retired as a secretary from the Defense Department of the Pentagon with 24 years of service.
She was a 1945 graduate of Altoona High School.
She was an avid golfer who also enjoyed world traveling.
Louise was a member of Sylvan Hills Golf Association.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, in the Santella Funeral Home where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
