HOLLIDAYSBURG - Hollidaysburg defeated Altoona, 4-1, and improved to 12-0 in high school girls tennis Wednesday.
Marissa Lanzel, Maisie Supp and Sierra Cobler won singles matches, and Alyssa Pheasant and Elyse Smilnak won a doubles match for the Lady Tigers.
Maddie Seidel and Kirstin Wills provided Altoona's point with a doubles win.

"It was a great win. All five matches the girls played great," Hollidaysburg coach Brian Denis said. "We had a big win yesterday against Hempfield and didn't get back until 10:30. So for us to come out against our biggest rival and keep our regular season winning streak alive was just great."

The Lady Scarlet Dragons got singles wins from Mikaela McGraw, Nicole Myers and Jenna Guyer. The doubles team of Myers and Guyer also got a big win.
Grier (1-2) got singles wins from Maria Gomez and Christina Corona, while the doubles team of Gomez and Stephanie Roslansky also won.

Tyrone edges Ridge
TYRONE - Tyrone won three of the five singles matches en route to a 4-3 win over Chestnut Ridge.
Tyrone's Ema Julenyova, Paige Padula and Abbey Crider won their singles matches, while Ridge's Amanda Kostryk and Angel Miller won in singles. The teams split in doubles, with Ridge's Jen Carthew and Miller winning the No. 1 match and Padula and Crider taking the No. 2 match.

SPRING MILLS - The Hollidaysburg Lady Tigers improved to 5-3, thanks to a 25-21, 25-23, 25-6 win over Penns Valley in high school girls volleyball.
McKenzie Ryan led the winners with 23 service points and eight assists, while Alex Scheel added 12 kills and Sierra Kirsch 11 assists. Kirsten Eaton added 11 service points to go with nine kills from Elizabeth Yacobucci and 14 service points from Kirsch.
