Genevieve Mae (Prelipp) Rumbaugh, 89, Concord, N.C., died Sunday at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast.
She was born in Plymouth, Ohio, daughter of the late William Fred Frederick and Mary Augusta Wilehmenia (Pagel) Prelipp. She married John Edward Rumbaugh on Aug. 16, 1945, and he died Jan. 26, 1995.
Surviving are a daughter, Patti Jo (Rumbaugh) Stuver and husband, Rodney Ned, of Concord, N.C.; a grandson, Todd Edward Stuver; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters.
Genevieve was a 1941 graduate of New Haven High School in New Haven, Ohio. She enjoyed being a housewife and mother and was a member of Mount Hermon Lutheran Church in Concord, N.C. She also belonged to Lutheran women's groups and a quilting group, and she enjoyed serving in various capacities to help the less fortunate, reading, crafts and sewing when able, and baking.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery by Pastor Wayne Ayer, followed by interment.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mount Hermon Lutheran Church or your favorite charity.
