Mary Jane "Jane" Kaczmarek, 93, The Village at Morrisons Cove, died Saturday at the Village.
She was born in York, daughter of Harry W. and Gertrude B. (Spangler) Jamison. She married Jean Alfred Kaczmarek on Dec. 31, 1960, in York, and he died July 27, 2013.
Surviving are a son, Jon Alex and wife, Karen (Laughlin); and a grandson, Seth David.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty (Jamison) Clark; and a brother, John Jamison.
Jane was a 1938 graduate of William Penn High School in York. She had been employed as a secretary at Edgar Fahs Smith High School in York and then as a secretary for the American Red Cross in Germany and Japan. While in Japan, she worked as an actress in several films. She was a member of United Church of Christ.
Jane enjoyed traveling, music and volunteering with the American Red Cross. She sang in various church choirs until she was 89, and she was involved in local theater as a teenager and young adult.
Friends will be received from 10 until the 11 a.m. graveside service Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, Pastor Wayne Ayer officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
