Lillian R. Shoemaker, 90, a resident at The Village at Morrisons Cove, formerly of East Freedom, died Sunday morning at the home.
She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late D. Homer and J. Ruth (Ebersole) Weitzel. She married Lloyd M. Shoemaker on April 15, 1948, in Winchester, Va., and he died March 26, 2009.
Surviving are two daughters: Linda Shoemaker of East Freedom and Lorraine Butler and husband, Barry; a granddaughter, Amanda Butler; and a sister, Elsie Smith, all of Roaring Spring.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lois J. Shoemaker, who died May 4, 2008; three brothers: Orville, Russell and Blair; and three sisters: Geraldine Reffner, Frances Stonerook and Grace Eastep.
Lillian graduated from Morrison Cove High School and had worked at Hinish Orchards, Roaring Spring.
Lillian had previously attended Woodbury Church of the Brethren. She loved sewing quilts, braiding rugs, cooking and baking.
Friends will be received from 1 until the 2 p.m. funeral service Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, at Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring, Pastor Paul Snyder officiating. Interment will be made in Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lillian's memory may be given to the Martinsburg Community Library.
