William J. Latina, 74, Williamsburg, passed away Thursday morning at UPMC Altoona after a brief illness.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Anthony L. and Barbara J. (Stevelock) Latina.
Surviving are a brother, Robert E. and wife, Carol, of West Chester; two nieces: Raena Lawson (Joe) of Indianapolis, Ind., and Sydney Latina (Jack Hoover) of Noblesville, Ind.; several cousins; and many good friends.
Bill was a 1957 graduate of Williamsburg High School and then received his bachelor's degree in arts and sciences from Edinboro University, Erie County, and his master's degree from Penn State University.
An educator and artist, Bill retired as a teacher, having taught at Tussey Mountain School District, Saxton, Sun Valley High School, Aston, and Harriton High School, Radnor. After retirement, he returned to his hometown of Williamsburg to enjoy hunting and to continue his painting and wood sculpting.
Friends will be received from 2:30 until the 3 p.m. funeral service outside of Mass Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, at John C. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg, Father Aron M. Maghsoudi officiating.
