Earl Lynn Garber, 60, Bellwood, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ early Thursday morning at UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh.
He was born in Pittsburgh, son of Earl E. and E. Mardell (Markley) Garber. He married Cynthia L. Benn on Dec. 15, 1973, at Calvary United Methodist Church, Bellwood.
Surviving are his wife; two sons: Matthew L. (Christina) and Jason E. (Jennifer), both of Altoona; two daughters: Laura B. of Collingswood, N.J., and Sarah E. of Altoona; 10 grandchildren: Eli, Daniella, Ezra, Anya, Zechariah, Josiah, Timothy, Anna, Iryna and Liliya and an expected grandchild; his parents of Antis Township; three brothers: John T. (Joanne), E. Mark and J. Todd (Deborah), all of Antis Township; and a sister, Penny (Walter) Regula of Somerville, N.J.
Earl was a 1971 graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School and attended Penn State Altoona. He completed a chaplaincy training course and was a software consultant and owner of Earl Garber & Associates. He attended Roseland Christian Fellowship, Glasgow.
Earl enjoyed gardening, especially blueberries, and crafting stained-glass window panels. He also enjoyed Bible study and playing cards, board games and Ping-Pong. He especially enjoyed spending time and communicating with his family and church families.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at Roseland Christian Fellowship Church, Glasgow, Pastor Sandy Hommer officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
