Altoona erupts for 34 in 1st quarter of rout

Daiquain Watson scored two touchdowns and Ryan Shope passed for two scores in a 34-point first quarter to lead unbeaten Altoona to a junior high football 47-0 rout of Central Mountain Thursday at Mansion Park.

Watson caught a 34-yard pass from Shope and returned a fumble 41 yards for a TD. Mike Campbell scored on a 65-yard run, while Britt Simington scored from the 1, Steve Franklin caught a 70-yarder, Bailey Davis ran in from the 18, and Kyle Good finished off the scoring with an 8-yard run.

Altoona is now 4-0.

Kammeron Green returned an interception 20 yards for a touchdown and added a 9-yard score later in the game.
