Otis F. "Sonny" Imler, 77, Hollidaysburg, died Wednesday morning at UPMC Altoona after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Hollidaysburg, son of Otis Calvin and Catherine A. (Bice) Imler. He married "Connie" L. Socie on July 14, 1957, in Hollidaysburg, and she died Nov. 7, 2009, after having shared 52 years of marriage.
Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Vicky; a grandson, Jeff; a sister, Darlene May Wyland of Williamsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Randy L., on Jan. 5, 2013.
Sonny was a 1953 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School and retired from SKF in 1997. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Hollidaysburg, as well as the Hollidaysburg Consolidated Sportsmen's Association, Hollidaysburg Beagle Club and Loop Sportsman's Club.
Sonny enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, camping and helping others.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the 2 p.m. funeral service Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, the Rev. Gregory P. Harbaugh officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
