Jean McCaulley Shirey, 90, Tyrone, died Sunday at Epworth Manor.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late William R. and Laura (Moon) McCahan. She was first married to Rowen C. McCaulley on July 12, 1943, and he died Sept. 17, 1962. She was then married to Vernon M. Miles, who died Jan. 20, 1976, then to Carleton R. Shirey, who is also deceased.
Surviving are two sons: Rowen W. McCaulley (Deb) and Terry L. McCaulley, both of Tyrone; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Lasca Jackson and Ruth Durbin, both of Tyrone; and a brother, John McCahan (Nancy) of Tipton.
She was preceded in death by a twin sister, Genevieve Palaszewski; and two brothers: Grant and William McCahan.
Jean was a homemaker her whole life and loved to cook and watch the Cooking Channel.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Sept. 18, 2013, at Derman Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, the Rev. Carl A. Schmidt officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park Cemetery.
