William "Kelly" Campagna, 63, Cresson, died Friday at his home, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Lilly, son of the late Kelly and Ethel (Carruthers) Campagna.
Surviving are his wife, Diane (Inman), whom he married Oct. 5, 1968; three children: Sherry DelGrosso and husband, Michael, of Tipton, Kelly Campagna and wife, Crissy, of Mifflintown and Shelly Scavone and husband, Errol, of Hollidaysburg; two granddaughters: Sofia DelGrosso and Maura Campagna; three sisters: Shirley Przybs, Beverly "Sis" Mulhearn and husband, Charles, and Sandra Miorelli and husband Eugene; and a brother-in-law, Eugene Talko, and wife, Brenda.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Ralph; and two sisters: Doris Rickens and Carolyn Talko.
Kelly graduated from Penn Cambria High School in 1967 and a 1985 graduate of St. Francis University. He was owner of W. Kelly Campagna and Associates PC accounting firm in Ebensburg.
He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Cresson, and American Institute of Certified Accountants.
His lifelong love for sports included coaching St. Aloysius Trojans football, Cresson Indians football, Dunny's basketball and Mainline Little League baseball. He was an avid fan of Penn State football and the Pittsburgh Steelers. A loving and caring husband, father and grandfather, some of his most cherished memories included numerous family vacations to Aruba. His quick wit, generosity and dedication to family were relished by many.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church St., Gallitzin, where the Legion of Mary will recite the rosary, followed by a vigil service. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Cresson, the Very Rev. John Byrnes, celebrant. Committal will be at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Cresson.
