William Richard "Ick" Tyack Sr., 61, Altoona, died early Saturday morning at UPMC Altoona.
He was born in Huntingdon, son of the late Richard Henry and Fern Leticia (Ross) Tyack. He married Ida Jean Durbin on June 11, 1971, in Altoona.
Surviving are his wife, Jean; a son, William Richard Tyack Jr. of Altoona; a daughter, Robyn Jean Tyack of Altoona; two grandsons: Allen Micheal Tyack of Altoona and Robert Charles McPhee III of Altoona; a sister, Mary P. Caruso; a sister, Cindi Tyack; a brother, Robert Tyack (Judy); a sister, Connie Carey (Michael); a brother, David Daugherty (Letty); a brother, Christopher Buckreis (Colleen); numerous nieces and nephews and friends; and lifelong best friends: Big Bill and wife, Belinda, and Jay Bird and wife, Goose.
Mr. Tyack attended Second Avenue United Methodist Church, Altoona.
Ick was a 1972 graduate of Altoona Area High School.
He retired as a self-employed electrician/carpenter in 1996.
He enjoyed motorcycles, fishing, hunting and gold mining.
Friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona, where a memorial service will be held at 7 p.m.
