An Altoona man is in jail after police said he used threats to get nude photos from two underage girls.
Kyle M. Boisvert, 22, of 610 Fourth Ave., Apt. 3, was jailed Tuesday night after his arraignment before Magisterial District Judge Craig Ormsby on a list of charges that include child pornography, intimidating witnesses and illegal contact with a minor, according to court records.
Altoona police allege Boisvert met two girls, ages 12 and 15, on July 6 on the 1800 block of Fourth Avenue. The girls allegedly asked Boisvert to get marijuana for them.
He reportedly agreed and got their cellphone numbers.
Boisvert and the girls began texting each other, and he asked one of them to send him "a sexy picture of herself," according to an affidavit of probable cause. Police said Boisvert then demanded "more sexier pictures from the juveniles" and demanded they send nude pictures of themselves to him, police noted.
The demands turned into threats, police said, with Boisvert reportedly telling the girls he was in a gang and would "send his 'boys' over to shoot up their houses," Altoona Detective David Dey noted in his account of Boisvert's alleged crimes.
Boisvert is accused of threatening to kill the girls, their boyfriends and their families if they didn't send him nude pictures. Police said the girls sent him topless photos of themselves because they were scared.
After he received the first pair of topless photos, Boisvert allegedly continued his threats, demanding more pictures. When one of the girls told him she would call the police, Boisvert allegedly reiterated his threat to kill their families and warned if he went to jail his "boys" would kill the girl's family.
One of the girls ultimately told her mother about Boisvert because he continued to send them threatening texts, police said. The girl's mother called police, who then contacted Boisvert on July 7.
Police said Boisvert admitted he received the nude photos and that he knew the girls' ages. Police said Boisvert admitted to threatening the girls and their families and that he refused to delete the photos after the girls had begged him to get rid of them. Boisvert also admitted he liked the photos and thought the girls were "cute," police added.
Boisvert remains in Blair County Prison in lieu of $90,000 cash bail. A preliminary hearing is slated for Wednesday at Central Court before Magisterial District Judge Todd Kelly.
