Kathleen M. "Katie" Burket, 89, King, passed away Wednesday at home.
She was born in East Freedom, daughter of the late Emory and Anna (Shaw) Burket. She married Gerald Burket on Dec. 24, 1942, in Cumberland, Md., and he passed away March 10, 1993.
Surviving are a son, Dennis and wife, Kay, of Claysburg; two daughters: Karen Bilger and Jean Matters and husband, Don, all of Claysburg; a daughter-in-law, Marsha Burket of East Freedom; seven grandchildren: Heather, Stacy, Rod, Doug, Jennie, Chris and Jessica; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Desch; a son, Allan; and a grandson, Tommy Dodson.
Katie was a 1942 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She was a homemaker and also worked in the office with her husband in the family auto and carpet business. She was a lifetime member of East Freedom United Methodist Church and of the Three Valley Sportsman's Club, where she served as treasurer for more than 30 years.
Katie enjoyed driving, watching "The Waltons," playing bingo and spending time with her family and friends.
Friends will be received from noon until the 3 p.m. funeral service Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg, Pastor James Neatrour officiating. Interment will be at Riverview Cemetery, Leamersville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to East Freedom United Methodist Church.
