Linda M. (Walter) Dodson, 51, Roaring Spring, went to heaven on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, after losing her battle with cancer while at her home surrounded by her family.
Linda was raised in Claysburg, daughter of the late Virgil and Nellie Walter. In 1984, she married the love of her life, Lynn Dodson.
Surviving are her loving husband Lynn; a son, Clay; a daughter, Ali, who will keep her legacy alive; four siblings: Mary Susan Claycomb of Queen, Denny Walter of Newry, Bill Walter of Claysburg, and John Walter of Tomahawk, Wis.
Linda was a 1979 graduate of Claysburg Kimmel High School and a 1983 graduate of Penn State, where she received a degree in math and secondary education. She had worked as a math teacher at Everett High School for the past 29 years. Teaching was her passion and she always evoked the best from her students. Linda was recently voted the "Best of the Best" teacher in Bedford County.
Linda was a member of the Lower Claar Church of the Brethren for her entire life.
Linda will be remembered for her selflessness, competitiveness, feisty personality, and ability to make each person feel special. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing tennis and spending time with her family. She was an amazing cook, wife and mother.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 26, at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Bedford Street, Claysburg. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at Barneywood, 9627 Charger Highway, Duncansville.
