Louis M. Grassi, 88, Hollidaysburg, passed away Sunday at Golden LivingCenter-Hillview.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Giuseppe and Mariuccia (Mascia) Grassi. He married Mary "Janie" Savine, and she died Dec. 10, 1990.
Surviving are three daughters: Marie Elaine (Butch) Brenneman, Roseanne (Robert) Moore and Carol Jo (Allen) Smith, all of Hollidaysburg; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary J. Grassi of Altoona.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony; and a sister, Jennie Gioiosa.
Louis was a graduate of Altoona High School. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII until he was medically discharged. He retired as the supervisor of the meter department of Penelec in 1985.
Louis was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church and also attended St. Mary Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg. He also belonged to the Bavarian Aid Society and Order Sons of Italy in America, and he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Friends will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, at Santella Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
