Rhonda D. Weyant, 55, Hollidaysburg, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday surrounded by her family following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of Shirley L. (Snyder) Corrado and the late Ronald D. Corrado. She married Randy A. Weyant on Sept. 29, 1979, at Calvary United Methodist Church, Bellwood.
Surviving are her husband; three sons: Lucas A. (Olivia) of Greensboro, N.C., Andrew J. (Jennifer) of Hollidaysburg, and Caleb J. at home; two grandchildren: Paxson and Noah; a brother: Ronald J. (Fawn) of Bellwood; three sisters: Terri (Jim) Stein of Hollidaysburg, Cathy Corrado of St. Thomas and LuAnn (Paul) Blazier; and her mother, both of Bellwood.
She was a graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School in 1975.
Rhonda retired as office manager of Blair Animal Hospital, Duncansville.
She was an active member of Grace Bible Church, Hollidaysburg, and a former Awana leader.
Rhonda enjoyed quilting and sewing, and she especially loved spending time with her family and the companionship of her beloved dogs, Gracie and Sweet Pea.
With grace and courage, Rhonda battled cancer for 11 years, remaining a true testament to her faith and love for the Lord. Death did not end her defiance of this disease. In her final act of selflessness, Rhonda directed her earthly remains be donated to Humanity Gift Registry to help carry on the struggle through medical research.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at Grace Bible Church, Hollidaysburg. A service to celebrate Rhonda's life will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013, at Grace Bible Church, Pastor Darren Ritchey officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts be made to Precious Life, 1716 12th Ave., Altoona, PA 16601, www.plinc.org; or Operation Christmas Child, c/o Grace Bible Church.
Arrangements are by Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood.
