Thelma E. Gampe, 88, formerly of Juniata, died Friday morning at The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late William E. and Hilda H. (Rodel) Barbee. She married Harold G. Gampe on Sept. 9, 1946, in Winchester, Va., and he preceded her in death Dec. 17, 2006.
Surviving are a son, Gilbert E. and wife, Georgia, of Bellwood; a daughter, Charleen Beichler and husband, D. Kirk, of Juniata; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Thelma was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Juniata. During WWII, she worked in the filament department at GTE Sylvania, Altoona. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, and 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata, the Rev. Elizabeth A. Hess officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery.
