Patricia J. Davidson, 85, formerly of 3330 Beale Ave., Altoona, and of Fairways Country Club, Orlando, Fla., passed away Wednesday in Altoona.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Robert H. and Jane E. (Ott) Gable. She married Joseph W. Davidson on Feb. 11, 1950, at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona, and he preceded her in death on May 9, 1997.
Surviving are a daughter, Janis Young and husband, Dennis, of Winter Park, Fla.; a son, Michael of Wilmington, Del.; a daughter-in-law, Donna Wojcik; five grandchildren: Alicia, Michael, Justin, Amber and Ashley; and six great-grandchildren: Tobias, Abigail, Ethan, Baylee, Alexa and Aubrey.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert, on Nov. 15, 1984.
Patty graduated from Altoona Catholic High School in 1945. She worked as a secretary at Penn Central Equipment Co. for seven years, then worked at Broad Avenue Presbyterian Church as a secretary for 20 years.
In Altoona, Patty was a member St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and also belonged to Park Hills Country Club, Friends of the Altoona Area Public Library and Navy League. In Florida, she was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Winter Park. She had many friends in Altoona and in Orlando and was an avid bridge player and reader.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
