Erma L. Baldwin, 80, Bellwood, died Tuesday at UPMC Altoona.
She was born in Antis Township, daughter of the late Gerald B. and Ethel O. (Moorehead) Hollabaugh. She married Wayne A. Baldwin on April 27, 1950, in Cumberland, Md., and he died May 29, 2001.
Surviving are four children: Janet E. (Don) Claar, Dwain I. (Jane), and Karen L. Baldwin, all of Bellwood, and Scott A. (Donna) of Altoona; six grandchildren: Dawn (Don) Engle Gillespie, Adam (Alyssa) Claar, Greg (Harmony) Baldwin, Amanda Baldwin, Cynthia Baldwin and Jessica Hanna Brumbelow; four great-grandchildren: Clayton and Claudia Engle, Micah and Jonah Claar and an expected great-grandchild in February; two step-grandchildren: Lisa (Mark) Claar Snyder and Donald (Heidi) Claar; seven step-great-grandchildren: Daniel, Hannah, Michael, Katelyn and Kimberly Claar, Perry Gillespie and Angel Mull; a brother, Gerald L. (Jane) Hollabaugh of Bellwood; as well as numerous cats.
She was preceded in death by a son, John Wayne, in 1958; and an infant brother, Calvin.
Erma previously was employed as an aide and a cook at Moran's Home, Bellwood, and had also managed the Bellwood Laundromat. She enjoyed crafts, caring for animals and walking her dog. She was a great mom to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
At Erma's request, there will be no viewing. Family and friends will gather to celebrate Erma's life from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood. Interment was made at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions in Erma's memory be made to a charity of individual choice.
