Wells Fargo Home Mortgage had twice the amount of players show up for its Mansion Park Summer Basketball League Division II final than its opponent, I&Y Construction.

As it turned out, Wells also played well for twice as long.

The defending champions, known as Perry Wellington Realty last season, took control in the second half when Kevin Conlon scored 13 of his game-high 20 points. I&Y Construction, which held the lead several times in the first half and pulled into a tie at halftime, managed just 15 points in the final 20 minutes as Wells Fargo won the title, 60-39, Thursday at Mansion Park.

Standing are Brent Gerwert, Brian Rehm, Tyler Port, Jason Kessinger, Mike Allison, Steve Conlon and league director Skip Dry.

"We just started hitting more shots in the second half and played better defense," Kevin Conlon said. "They have some good players who hit some good shots in the first half, but in the second half we tightened up our defense."

Steve Conlon added 10 points for Wells Fargo, which got points from eight different players. Only six players showed up to the game for I&Y, and one of them, Aaron Nadolsky, played less than a minute.

"We flat out ran out of gas," I&Y's Adam Kaack said. "We had six guys tonight, and we were missing DeRon [Lee] who has been a big part of our team all summer, but we had a good run and a good time this season."

Kaack's wife, Kristi, won the women's championship a day earlier with Freedom Basketball Club.

Matt Knouse led I&Y with 13 points.

Wells Fargo got a lift from outside the arc, connecting on six 3-pointers. Kevin Conlon and Brent Gerwert each made two.

"My brother [Steve] and Brian [Rehm] told me at halftime I had to get going and score some points," Kevin Conlon said. "I got things going in the second half with some transition buckets, and they started backing off our outside shots.

"I think we wore them down a little bit in the second half. You could tell those guys were a little bit tired."
