Paul J. Mellott, 70, Avis, passed away Friday at Williamsport Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Bedford County, son of the late Arthur and Jennie (Hinkle) Mellott. He married Barbara (Wayne) Wayne-Mellott on July 17, 1999, in Altoona.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Paul Arthur in California; a sister, Virginia Delozier of Pittsburgh; and two brothers: James and wife, Patty, of Martinsburg and Robert and wife, Shirley, in South Carolina.
He was preceded in death by two sisters: Olive Smith and Dolly Stroup; and two brothers: Glenn and Lawrence.
Paul was a 1961 graduate of Altoona High School and attended Penn State University, Altoona Campus, where he studied mechanical engineering. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve. He was a retired highway construction inspector/CDS operator.
Paul was of the Episcopal faith and was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons of Altoona.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the noon funeral service Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at St. Paul's Church of Yellow Creek, Hopewell, James F. Wayne officiating. Burial will be at Yellow Creek Reformed Cemetery, Hopewell.
Arrangements are by Heath Funeral Home, Osceola Mills.
