Thomas Elwood Mingle, 74, Williamsburg, passed away late Friday evening at West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a lengthy battle with a blood disorder.
He was born in Catharine Township, rural Williamsburg, son of the late Robert E. and Mary R. (Haney) Mingle. He married Marguerite "Peggy" Isenberg on June 6, 1959, at Trinity United Church of Christ, Williamsburg.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 54 years; a daughter, Beth Morningstar of Huntingdon; a son, Sam (wife, Yvonne) of rural Williamsburg; three grandchildren: Christy Chamberlain and Casey and Mathew Mingle; and a sister: Donna Tate (husband, Rich) of Williamsburg.
He was a 1956 graduate of Williamsburg High School.
Tom retired in 2000 after 37 years of service from McLanahan Corporation, Hollidaysburg. He also owned and operated with his son, Sam, the Lazy Brook Angus Farm, rural Williamsburg, for 38 years and assisted with Mingle's Deer Processing.
He was a member of the former Yellow Springs Lutheran Church, rural Williamsburg.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, at John C. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, with Pastor Elizabeth A. Hess officiating.
The family prefers memorial contributions be given to the Williamsburg Ambulance Club or Williamsburg Public Library.
