Conrad R. Powell Jr., 69, Altoona, died Wednesday at UPMC Montefiore, Pittsburgh, after an extended illness.
He was born in Upland, son of the late Conrad R. Sr. and Lorraine (Kisielnicki) Powell.
Surviving are two sisters: Bonnie Decker (Bob) of Altoona and Marge Martinovic (Chuck) of Kingman, Ariz.; and two nephews: Robert Stoudnour (Maggie) and Eric Stoudnour (Kelli) and their children, Hunter and Taylor.
Conrad was a 1962 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School and a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He retired as an abstractor from Advanced Abstracts of Allentown after 40 years of service.
Conrad was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Central Pennsylvania Association for the Blind. He enjoyed bowling, NASCAR, dancing, the Pittsburgh Steelers and his cat, Oreo.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Committal will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
