Johnston Realty will open the 69th annual All-American Amateur Baseball Association National Tournament today against defending champion New Brunswick, it was announced Sunday night.
The first pitch is scheduled to be at noon at Greater Johnstown Middle School.
A total of eight games are slated for the opening day of the tourney - seven are at noon, and then Johnstown Delweld and Schenectady wrap things up with a 7:30 p.m. contest at Point Stadium.
Johnston is the champion of both the Altoona AAABA League and the Altoona Regional Tournament. It is in the Upper Bracket with Baltimore, Cleveland, Livonia, Johnstown Martella's, New Orleans and Youngstown, in addition to New Brunswick.
Cleveland was last year's runner-up, with Baltimore and Livonia rounding out the 2012 final four.
