The Curve's 2014 season will start with a seven-game homestand beginning April 3 against Erie, plus the team will be at home on the Fourth of July.
The highlight of the season will be the Eastern League All-Star Game coming to Peoples Natural Gas Field, with festivities set for July 15 and the game the following night. The Curve haven't announced what the day-before fan event will be yet.
One potentially troublesome component of the schedule is that there are 14 home games in April and 15 in May, so 29 games during the two worst weather months of the year. There are 14 home games in June, 15 in July and only 13 in August.
Primary game times will remain the same as recent years, with most weeknight games in April and May starting at 6:30 p.m. and moving to 7 beginning in June. Most Saturday games will start at 6 p.m. There will be three Sunday games at 1 p.m. (April 6, May 4, June 1), and all others will be at 6.
The Curve will get very familiar with Erie, Akron, Richmond and Harrisburg early on as those four opponents make up the first 31 games.
The final home game will be Aug. 28 against Richmond, wrapping up a week-long homestand. The team then will finish the season with four games at Bowie, playing the finale on Sept. 1.
